SAIS Bao’an Launches 2024 Reading Programme
Shenzhen American International School (SAIS) is excited to announce the start of the 2024 Reading Programme, designed to encourage a love for literature among our secondary students. The program promotes critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration through reading.
Programme Highlights
- Presentation Day (11th September):
On Wednesday, 11th September, Middle School (MS) and High School (HS) students presented their chosen books for the semester. Following the presentations, students voted for their preferred book by scanning a QR code, selecting the books for this semester’s reading programme (as shown in the attached image).
- Student-Led Book Presentations:
Students took the lead in presenting and persuading their peers, sharpening their communication skills and engaging more deeply with the material.
- Awards and Recognition:
To motivate participation, students can earn awards like “Reading Stars” and “Most Avid Reader,” along with House and subject points for high-quality work.
Programme Timeline:
- Start Date: 23rd September 2024
- Assignments: 3 Reading Entries + 1 Reflection
o1st Assignment: 25th October (English), 1st November (Chinese)
o2nd Assignment: 22nd November (English), 29th November (Chinese)
o3rd Assignment: 20th December (English), 27th December (Chinese)
